Demo at the Parlour by FNG
: Nice video! Guess I'm the only one with such a tight mini ramp lol. Guess I have new ideas of stuff I can work on, thanx for showing!!

Did you mean "I'm ►NOT◄ the only one..."? If so, then that would make more sense. Either way, you are so welcome! But, I do believe this ramp is taller than the one you are riding. It is 4 & 1/2 feet tall. Yours looks tougher to me.

I went to the Parlour last Sunday, to test my ankle, as I have already mentioned in another thread. They had an art exhibit that was entirely done on skateboard decks. I regret that I have no pictures of the art.

However...Find & Grind, a local skate shop, sponsored the event with a demo half-pipe in the parking lot. My son took footage and put together a video. The first half is the demo, and the last half is Raven and his friend David, skating the ramp that is behind the Find & Grind skate shop.

Enjoy!

Nice. Both of those looked like fun little ramps. You were putting on a Tutorial there. I hope you know I intend to steal as many tricks from you as I possibly can. you've been warned. LOL! The Ho-Ho's to fakie look especially do-able.....if I can actually sk8 pre-RC I may try that one before you get here.....you're looking good.PEACE.
BTW: Raven's skating AND video skills stay top-notch. Like the Old Man, I guess.

Mine is 4 1/2 feet tall or so (they say 5 but its not that tall) but not so much space between sides.

Seriously??? I followed one thread w/you & Robert about sk8boarders. Did you not skate almost exclusively with them as a rollerskater? I did. In fact, if it weren't for my good friend, Kirk, I never would've started skating transitions.
Anyway, while not technically a Ho-Ho I was referring to your 2 handed handplant that you roll away from fakie(parallel).
On a sk8board,if you do a 2-handed handplant while balancing board on feet it's called a Ho-Ho. It usually involves walking on hands on deck, transitioning to one hand to grab board, then back into ramp like standard invert.
I got alot of good-natured ribbing about my handplants cuz for YEARS they were ALWAYS 2-handed & my sk8s were tied on.My buddy would never call 'em inverts.
And, if you knew all along what a Ho-Ho was & were just screwing with me,I guess it worked.
I'll be skating with you in less than 2 weeks. I'm really stoked.I THINK I may be able to lace up for 'Old Dudes Night' @ Area 702 this tue......I hope.
Have a great weekend, Bro.

Seriously.

Technically yes, but I never learned the names of all their tricks. Heck! I don't even know the name of all of my tricks!!

Have fun getting ready for what is to come at the 702, because, you'll need it! I'm going to shred that place from one side to the other.

Have a good weekend yourself, Jay.
Cheers!

Yeah, but can you face plant your butt? You need to combine Yoga with skating to learn that one.

Of course. The skateboarder also count a "Mr. Wilson" as a trick.

Biff, I love the way you go from side stance to straight stance. I used to do the handstand to fakie all of the time, but with my hurt shoulder I can't seem to do a handstand. I love the fakie to plate stahl. I need to start learning those. Your son is doing great. Get him and his friends on the vert and then maybe on rollerskates. If they don't start, then our sport may die once we are all too old to walk.

I do not think my son will do rollerskates, Maybe some day... but definitely not now.

I hope your shoulder starts feeling better! I would like to see you show me your tricks when in good condition. I'm glad that you liked my little vid. It wasn't spectacular, but it was fun to get my ankle rolling again. It is feeling even stronger now!! :)

A fun thing to do when skating bowls is to continually try to switch from front stance to side stance to back stance (fakie) and every combination there of!!
