Give this 5 year old roller skates!
As I agree with you, the kid should have fun, not be lifting weights. So I would replace the weights with skates!! I am sure weights at his age would harm his growth. He probably has a disease as its not normal to be that muscular at his age. Anyway, I wish I could do handstands like him.

As amazing as that is, it makes me sad.

Working kids like that, when they are young, can have some bad long term affects on their health. Their bones are still growing, and not yet built to withstand that kind of stress and power. Gymnasts, and ballerinas, often suffer similar problems from being trained at too early of an age.

That being said, he would be an amazing skater if he was trained while that young.

Assuming the video isn't a fake: I think this kid has been misused seriously. I believe that behind this kid is a dad who want's to become famous as the father of the strongest kid in the world. I find this despicable and I would find it despicable if weren't done with weights but with skates or with tennis rackets or whatever. Parents have no right to use their kids.

I agree, however, that he should be allowed to have fun. Be it with skates or with a tennis racket or whatever. Besides guidance, kids need freedom to develop their own personality.

I'm not much for competition nowadays in anything. Which is one reason why I roller skate. You are free to do what YOU want so its enjoyable. When it becomes competitive, no matter what age really, I find the joy ceases as there is always someone better then you. I think everyone should more or less play and enjoy, not just 5 year olds.
