Got my full set of Ricta Wheels today, needless to say i underestimated just how much these slide.

Bad run, but a good way to spend the morning getting used to them.

That better?

I've actually only ever been to a roller rink a few times. I just like trying to incorporate 'flatland' into my riding.
And these new wheels are amazing for snaking, don't have to put much effort in at all.

I think thats my main problem with the landings, i'm still tryin to overcompensate by shifting my weight too much and i end up sliding out. I wish I'd gotten these sooner xD

It also works, when you just post the Youtube link (without the url embellishments). I have removed them in your original posting.

Nice! Good-looking park too. Would've liked a closer look/better angle @ that Spine though.
PEACE

I should include usage hints for how content of a message is treated by the forum. I always resolve to do this some time, but as you see, I haven't got round to do it. And how should a user guess how he can e.g. include a YouTube video? He can have a look at other messages, but I freely admit that this is cumbersome.

Well, at the moment I have got another problem to solve. I have changed Wolfl1on to Vertic_Al, but thes changes do not appear in the index. I know the reason (scripts aren't allowed to run longer than 30 seconds) but the solution is a bit of reprogramming the index generation.

With YouTube videos, it's best to just include the link in the message. The forum will automagically embed the video and also indexing works this way (you will find your videos under the videos by biffsk8er link.

I need to to this because occasionally there are other reasons for an index rebuild.

Thanks for your offer. It's really not that much of a server/database problem. It's just that I need to optimize the code for the index generation. At the moment, I do parse all the messages which are stored in individual XML files and transform them into a programmatic representation which is then used to built the index. The whole parsing step is just too long so I have resolved to keep the results on disk in order to not loose any work and enable the index generation to be resumeable. It already is if it gets interrupted after the parsing step but now I need to do better.

What is your background in computing? I already saw that you are using the "right OS", but do you also do programming?

Well, I haven\'t really programmed anything yet except for \"Hello World!\"-ing with C++ and lots of programs in TI-Basic with my graphing calculator. I\'ve also done a university course on program behaviour, PGL, CPGL and other really theoretical, dry stuff. It may be in dutch, but you may get the idea.
My problem is that no opportunity presents itself. Regardless, I was planning on making a nice file/web/whateverserver out of an old computer I have lying around. If I succeed and have a little bit of experience, I\'ll see if I can find some work on gong.nl, a site where hobby experience is enough to participate in projects in the IT field.
But first the skates.

Which reminds me, I still have to make a CV...

I had no idea what you were talking about. Sounded quite 'German' to me. "index generation"?? Huh? Isn't a script what you read for your High School play??

With index I am roughly referring to the pages you use to navigate the forum. And the computer needs a script telling it how to create those pages from the messages the users post.
