: Those look so awesome, but I am curious about the line up of the trucks. It seems the euopeans and maybe others have the trucks higher up on the foot. I am used to the trucks being under the ball of my foot. Is it harder to skate with the trucks so far up? I like the fact that it gives you more room on the plate for tricks.

I skate with my trucks as far apart as possible. I\'ve found it is very helpful when skating vert.

Those look so great, but I am confused. Are they a plate or just a slider?

 Sliders.

Those are inline boots (looks like Xsjados). They already have plates on them made of hard plastic. Looks to me like the skateboard trucks are bolted directly to that configuration with UHMW sliders added in the middle.

Nice, Yours Irene? I think those sliders would go down too low even for me. I would never get off the coping, splat, hehehe.

I like my front trucks under the base of my toes, further forward its too hard to turn.

I agree with Biff, I for a long time skated with the more "proper" arrangement of having the front trucks under the ball of my foot, when I made my plate I considered it but opted for the extra clearance for sliding and the stability of the longer wheel base and pushed the trucks as far a part as possible. I love it and have not noticed any problem with carving or making lines happen. If I were rink skating I would set them differently but I think it really helps for vert skating. I do maintain some toe stop/slide area and find that works well for nose grinds.

here is a question. It would appear from the photo that the ends of the slider could interfere with the turning action of the trucks. Am I deceived? Could this be shortened to allow for greater turning action?

You are right, it would seems that steering is affected. I noticed this too, but could not express it as well as you.

I wouldn't think that there would be a problem with the slider interfering with the trucks. If you enlarge the picture and look really close, you'll see that the slider slopes back underneath. That would allow the truck to pivot without hitting the slider.

When you push one side of the truck down towards the boot, you'll notice the other side of the truck moves up and away from the slider (forward in front / backwards in the rear), while the depressed side moves down and under the slider.

No prob.

This is very interesting to hear about truck placement and wheel base. It seems like it would be a little harder to turn, but the extra space on the plate would be awesome. I did skate inlines for a year and I adapted to having the front wheel past the toe of my skate. I wish equipment was more accessible so I could try different things. My rollerskate set up has been working pretty well lately. I like my trucks really loose. Oh, and would would highly recommend Rainskates wheels. They are fast, but als grippy.
