sidestance for every occasion!! I don't have much expierence with rollerskates on street... besides flat ground but for everything else I like to ride sidestance... mini's give me some trouble but I'm learning... small bowls are more fun.. but just adding some corners and hips makes everything more fun!!! I have had a blast riding my skates in backyard pools.. tight corners take some getting used to but are fully possible... I've even managed to carve over some shallow end steps. Backyards that are not a bust are preferred since trying to make quick escapes while strapped in is a drag... I have spent some time with my skates stuck in the fence with crucial moments ticking away. lol

Im bummed that I cant ride sidestance....looks really cool....I guess I could learn....need to get my knee better before I can ride yet anyway....lol...I just wanted to find out if you can ride street at all sidestance....and what about minis???Mind you mini ramps suck....vert rules...lol...but I do like small bowls with corners and hips....I can see that hips would be cool sidestance......how is it carving tight corners though???Ive only ever seen guys riding vert sidestance....thats why I was asking.......ok...well.......keep carving......sk8 with 8...

you can skate street parallel til you get to the trick or obstacle and switch to sidestance to launch methods, grinds or whatever. you can ride anything sideways just like skateboarders, there are no limitations to sidestance skating. parallel, no matter which direction you turn (left or right) there is no true blindside and looks the same to the uneducated. carving bowls and airs over hips are more fun going sideways, i think you also have a better center of balance. it's the difference between skiing and snowboarding. start on street... carving around things backside, do some slalom (frontside and backside going sidestance), then hit the ramps. got to try it to find out...roll on!
