I want to know what kinds of tricks we rollerskaters are trying these days on street, at the park, on vert, in bowls, etc. (parallel and sidestance)??? What have you been up to?

I haven't been skating lately. The weather has gone down and the workload has gone up. :-( When the weather gets better, I will try to catch up with my skating. I would be glad if I manage to do the tricks I already was able to do. Lip tricks, mainly.

The biggest trick for me right now is getting back where I left off in June. Just trying to feel really solid on my skates again working on airs and grinds...skating the city park here in Wilmington a lot and riding our little combi bowl mostly... grinding around the corners shallow and deep is a blast. Nose grinds out of the deep and off of the hip into the shallow end are fun.

I spent some time on the mini ramp today(all sidestance). Being the vert guy that I am, it really is a whole new world. I messed around with the lip for a while, just plateslides in either direction.. frontside 50/50's, backside nose grinds, fs nose grinds & pivots... something like a fs lip slide. Next I played around with air's a bit just trying to get comfortable with fs & bs air.. then adding some grabs.. it really is a lot more work than air on vert... having to pop out so hard and trying not to hang up... finally got a few bs 360's out too. Then I took a slam when my front foot got all squirly during a fs nosegrind and called it a day shortly after.... has anyone else ventured into new territory latley?

Mini ramps are more slam-prone in my opinions, too. I alway just try to stay on my feet. Rene even did back flips in the mini ramp! But I haven't been on a ramp lately. Too deeply involved with two short projects I'm working on. But I hope to be spending some time on a mini or small vert soon. Glad to hear that you are on wheelsm though!

Rene was amazing on a mini ramp!!!! I remember watching in amazement as he ripped the upper section of the snake run in Munster, he was perhaps the most versitile guy to ever ride rollerskates.

I have lost him somehow. He isn't responding @ the email address I know. When I get round to it, I want to try and reach him via Roces.
