well, found a place that would print them, handle money transactions for me, etc. I would earn $5/t-shirt I sold lol, no wont get rich, and may have to get releases from all the skaters I show due to liability which would be a pain. Is there a market beyond 2 people lol? I can also do mugs, etc. too with them but I might be able to print them myself with my photoshop image which would come out nicer, just buying the stuff might not cash out.

There probably isn't a big market for vertical roller skating t-shirts, but then: who knows?

I surely would have liked to have one of Duke's shirt, but they are in black. I wouldn't wear a black t-shirt. Which color will be your's?

I think any color! I wont profit much if I go this way, but I wont lose money either and the person probably can choose the shirt they want. I am checking into it, but I think an email saying its OK to reproduce their image would do. I've had someone bring this up. Ive never needed a release using someones image in a piece of artwork, but things in our world are changing. I also need to come up with some text too!

My good friend attempted to make and sell shirts and he lost money. If you have no upfront costs, then that is great, but I am guessing you can not generate the volume they would like. Depending on the price, I would definitely buy one. Put together a graphic and take some pre orders and see if it is worth it. I am guessing not, but I would love to get a vert rollerskating shirt. Recently, I have become extremely proud of our sport and even talk about it at work. These people must think I am a nut. lol

This place that I found, I wouldnt profit much at all but there are no upfront costs, I dont have to deal with the application of the image or handling of the money. They market it all. So I think I will do it. I need to come up with some text though to finish it up! So if you have input, let me know. Like Old Skool Skaters or Rip it up! or something like that.

I wish there was more of a market for it. But I'm still proud to be one of the few. I hope what Lisa keeps saying about derby girls doing it is true but to my knowledge, it isnt happening. Or maybe a few just roll around a bit like I see other girls come and go at the park on other wheels and then quit. But when I see it, or I hear some new girls here on the forum and/or from other vert skaters, I will believe it. Even if its only a dozen of us in the whole world roller skating, I love it with all my heart!

As I said, I would buy a shirt in a second just to represent our sport and this forum. Maybe we could advertise Bernhard's site and have a great pic of Brian W. or anyone else that would be willing to give their pic. I would volunteer, but I don't have anything worth printing on a shirt. Any photos that I have coming up are definitely contributed for free. I belong to a site called OMA, which stands for Old Man Army. It is all skateboarders, but they are really cool like everyone here. I have an OMA shirt and would love to have a shirt to represent this group. I suggest that everyone on here gives some input about a tag line and then you can post a cool pic. This is terrible, but a starting point. How about... Bernhards's Eight Wheel United Nation". Pretty bad, but I would love to see all of the skaters here respresented. Or something really bad : Eight Wheelers Have More Fun". Ok, I am drinking again and will just give this some thought, when I am sober. lol

Although I do not skate side stance, I did e-mail Duke's company asking how I could get a shirt and pay for it and never got a response back. Either he or they never got it, or maybe just because you can skate does not mean you know how to conduct business.

It's quite well possible that he didn't read it. I think, I also tried to mail via the contact on this web site some years ago.

 Hi Robert,

I definitely appreciate your tossing around ideas for a name for this site.

"Eight wheel united nation" is already a nice one, "Eight Wheelers Have More Fun" is indeed bad, but just because it doesn't nicely go into an acronym or something. Brian has a nice name, but that belongs to him. I'm often pusing something like 4trucks around my mind. OMA is a good one, it's very catchy. In Germany, there is even an OMSA. The Melbourne old school skaters call themselves MOSS. which is very nice.

: Get the ball rolling: 4x4,

Just tried to register this as domain name. It's not a valid name, except under or.at. No way!

: insane octothane,

Nice, but a bit long.

: quad squad...

Very nice, but has "quad" instead of roller skate in it.

How about origin8... I mean 540's,handplants,airs and so on originated as rollerskate moves and even the skateboard origin8ed as a rollerskate cut in half and nailed to a plank of wood.Funny how Holger Sander cut a board in half and made them into rollerskates...complete reversal.

This T-shirt thing has evolved into something even bigger. Bernhard, you took my little phrase and asked what we should call this site? I know that it is cheesy and lame, but we should come up with a name and make this sort of a club or culture. We obviously have a few people on here that are extremely creative and artistic. I am guessing Claudine could help the website with some graphics or at least the shirts. lol This lady is one crazy, obsessed skater. Bernhard, your tiny little forum or website is so big and you may not know it. I think the few of us here should pitch in and grow this site. I am not talking about selling out or being commercial, just reaching other rollerskates. I do like Origin8 for the shirt.

Eight wheel nation is a good one! Or I like Old Skool Roller Skaters. I'm game for any good name, but it would be nice to make the t-shirts and the site coincide. I think I am finally getting some headway in getting the word and image out, who knows, maybe one day I can achieve something really great in my life, make vert roller skating THRIVE lol! Yeah, big, creative and crazy, great for tricks too lol!

Yeah, spread the word and get the roller skaters together! Brian did this five years ago, when this forum started. Lisa was one of the first to drop by. She thought she was the only roller skater in the world doing this kind of stuff back then (OK, I thought I was the only one left when I started this site in 1999 and that every other roller skater had switched to inlines and that I was the only one who couldn't go the inline route). Now I have the impression that there are at least one hundred roller skaters out there, old farts and also new blood. The times have improved, indeed!

And yes, Origin8 is pretty good. Graphics for the site aren't needed at the moment. First I would have to get up my ass and redo the information design. You know the Bauhaus motto: Form follows function. The name thing would be even higher on the list. I already have on catchy domain, Sk8Mag.de, and that works quite well. There is at least one contributor to Sk8Mag.de who viewed the roller skate stuff as a part of Sk8Mag.de. I heartily disagree. The roller skate site needs it's own identity.
