my plates/trucks!
pure sex I love trackers, always have, those plates look prety thick and heavy though, maybe you could weigh your skates when they're together , be a good reference for folks. Are you going plastic sliders,I recon they'de be better than the R/G ones. You can buy Grind King king pin kits too which would lower your pin height:

cheers joe

I have tracker plates and midtrack trucks! How cool is that? I'm not sure I could be any happier!
:
: I will see if I can cut the plastic with them on. I will need longer bolts to attach this and I need to figure out what will write on the plastic and if I need a special drill bit. They will be heavy but will be the best skates in the world for me! The skateboarders are going to think I am so cool.
:
: Well, maybe I will just have the trucks super tight until I can figure out the cushion deal. The jump bars are a quick fix. Not sure if I want to wait to do the sliders to put my new skates together.
:
: Heres a not too good photo of them! :-D
:
: : Cooooool, What did ya get. Ifn your gonna cut any bushings, then cut the one that doesn't sit on the base plate, but I wouldn't cut them too much though as it will mess with the amount of turn you can get.
: :
: : cheers joe
: :
: : : Gosh, I LOVE them! I will do the plastic set up cause the other one wont work I can tell. I will make it a slight V in the center instead of a circle. But I can put jump bars on it for now. I will wait til January to do the slider set up. I think its best to adjust to new trucks and the heavier weight first. The only thing I'm worried about is that this will be heavy. But I will build it for speed and I am working hard in the weight room now so I will be strong.
: : :
: : : The one issue I have is that the bottom bushing is conical. I might have to slice them since I will want my trucks loose and there is not much room left on the king pin. I'm not sure if I slice the top or bottom or since they are narrow where the jump bars are, guess they are OK naked without the washer? The jump bar fully covers them. I will build new skates this weekend, hope my knee is healed.

I found these, the bottom is solid so I just trim the ends to give the trucks room to move, drill 2 holes and holes in the plate with a tempered bit, secure with flat bolts, then its set.

I like the idea using UHMW plastic, I'm not sure yet on the heaviness of it. My idea changed to this image, So I hollowed it all out:

Pretty much Gambins idea! But I thought I would make a 2 inch long notch, 1/4 inch or so deep to clasp on. Then the outside edges I could knock off with a 45 degrees slant to ease getting on/off. Was thinking now just triangular shaped notch. But I'm not sure of freight costs for it and I must watch my money now.

I am confused? Well, I guess that's normal. It looks like those are inline skate chassis or plates. Are you going to attach those to your current plate?

Thats my plan, it would be like Brian W. idea:

I just chop off the ends and screw it in the bottom. Simple, LIGHT, it would be about 1 1/2" wide and tall, have a place to lock on, light, cheaper then the other idea now. The negative with the other idea is that I'm afraid the weight is adding up too much now and the freight shipping will double the cost. If I had the tools, I could take steel and make a rollergirl kinda thing but make a V notch that is 2" long and 1/4" deep. But hers also dont slide too well. This would slide well and might be my best option financially now that would work well.

Lisas set up doesnt seem to lock on well for me, I just roll off the coping if I lean at all forward. Even when I balance to drop in, it was hard cause I couldnt hold on to lean forward so I really was leaning backwards almost dropping in. So thats why I also started jumping in so thats why either I will go with a lower set up or put some type of notch in there.

Seems like the ideal set up is your own set up. There is no ideal one I'm finding. I am asking everyone what works for them and why. Figuring out what I want and need and go from there. I guess others havent tried this option so I'm throwing it out there to see what others think. From the standpoint of the skatepark, it might be fun to have a skateboard set up with a touch of inline in there to make me a total hybrid of both and neither.

Wow, I've got to skate soon. This is me today, not skating --> :-(

Dayum, that guy rips! On my other forum there are a ton of Mechanical Engineers. I am sure they could come up with something, but unfortunately it would not make economical sense. I wonder if there is a wood out there that could handle this type of pressure? I am guessing not, but I know there are a lot of amazing composites that could. I come across a lot of engineers in my line of work and someone could definitely make us something amazing, but the problem is that the cost that goes into it would not be worth it. Good thing for some of you that you are artisic and can create things. I would love to do something awesome to my skates, but the reality is that I don't see myself sliding anyway. Maybe once I start my new progression I will have a need to slide. I think that if I knew how to slide, the grind plates from rollergirl would work fine. I have a new goal in life and hope injuries do not get in my way.

Yep, Brian is AMAZING on his grinds and slides. So although the plastic isnt as slippery as the UHMW, I think it will be lighter and I'm afraid the frieght costs will double the cost of that material. Plastic still slides really well and this is the lightest option I think, wood wouldnt slide though. And metal grabs some too. So I think plastic is ideal if I ever want to slide, if I just want to make noise and sparks, steel is better! I can change later when I get into it more but I think this might be the best start.

This will clasp on well and is something where I could slide a rail. Dang, that would impress my whole skatepark!! Shed new light on roller skates to let them know that my skates ARE aggressive skates. :-D

Yes, I feel like I have a goal now in life too, simple but fun and purposeful. I like to be happy and carefree!

I could saw that inline plate directly down the center and split it to each side of the trucks so I dont need to drill holes on the center........

 Schweet!
Maybe other cushions are shorter that you can swap out, see what you have. If you cut, I'd cut the narrower (top) of the conical and I'm with joe...don't mess with the one on the baseplate. Daniel rides Rollergirls grindbar without the cushion cap, so it's ok. Where'd you score the tracker aluminium plates? I've never seen rounded ones. Mine have an angular cut around the foot.
Happy building!

I've got them from my best friend in the world, Elvis! :-D He still lives.

Well, my birthday is coming so I put in an early request for bushings, (indy 90?), longer bolts, powell bowl bombers 95a and UHMW plastic, woo-hoo! Dang, I love to build!! It better not snow much this winter is all I can say cause this is it for me. :-D

But is is a big deal if I build them, take them apart later to install the sliders and put them back together? Lisa told me not to reuse bolts. I dont understand why? I can use lock tite if I'm worried right?

The bolts though I'm scrounging for so I can make the sliders have a rounded head but are flat, #10-32 thread, 2" long, any help here? I am asking a skateboard shop cause I think this might be out of Lisa's realm and I want to get everything one place (shipping). The heads at Home Depot are too tall.

Irene, if we ever skate together, I'll let you take them for a spin. Just I want them back! These are my best friends!

Nah......I think these are better lol! Gosh, love at first site.

Well, yes, I'm going to do the UHMW sliders. The design I made with the smiley face but instead of a curve in the center, it will be a V which indents 1/4 inch. Enough I am hoping to slide rails! I'm going for it! Now I have time to build them so its good timing and my knee is still recovering. When they are built, its just going to be pure heaven! By then I better be healthy too.

The difference between the plates/trucks of my old setup and new one is that the new one is 1/2 pound more. The grind set up, I donno. The wheels will weigh the same. My last set up was 3 lbs 10 ounces, this will probably be close to 4.5 lbs. OUCH! Thanks for the kingpin height. I'll let you know the final weight verdict. But speed will help me kick my legs up right? :-P
