Roll Some noise BOWL session
Great video and great skating! What type of camera did you use? I also loved the switch stance! Claudine, I totally recommend wearing toe stops. They help in so many ways. If I am coming in backwards and have to bail, I just put down my stops and save myself from falling. They are also a lot of fun to do tricks on. Last but not least, I never worry about getting stuck in a bowl because you can climb each side with your stoppers to gain momentum to get out. Toe stops are awesome once you get used to them. Try it and you will love them.

: Thanks Irene. Switching also sometime help me to avoid bails!!! ;-)
: : Very cool...great idea for an event at the skateparks and the park looks real fun.
: : Nice skating, too! I like how you can switch it up from parallel to sidestance, vice versa. Right on.

Great videos! That looks like lots of fun. Perfect debth for me too! The bowl nearby me is very small and tight so I have to enter and carve LEFT immediately so I've been procrastinating doing it. I'm gonna try it soon, thats why I'm practicing going left.

So when you fall, how do you get out of the bowl, pump? I dont have toe stops on now but was told for bowls they are great.

Thx Claudine, it was second time I try a bowl like that and I met another french quader (Quader).
When you fall, it's pump or die! After some time, some kids don't want to die, so they remove their skates and walk up in socks, they have more grip on wood, but in deep concrete bowl or pool, you need to pump (Don't have to stoppers....)

PS: for security reasons, ramps don't have ladder in France, so you have to learn pumping, but.... it's the reverse problem than bowls if you crash.... So when I skate alone on ramps , I never put my bag on the plateform!!!!!! because if one day I crash really hard, I will not be able to reach my phone in the bag up there.... (some of my friends let their bags up, with a rope, just in case, to recover the bag from down).

I really dont want stopper on cause my plates are too long, its really hard to get on stoppers if they are in front of your toes.

The bowl I go to is at a community center. The one I will do for the next year will be a 5 foot deep on about. So I could take my skates off and walk up if I cant pump or yell. I've got GOOD lungs!! Its concrete tho. The other one is 10 feet deep. I have lots to learn before I do that and with no medical, I dont want to chance things. I dont think I would do that totally alone now when I get there cause if I sprained my ankle or worse, it would be hard to get out. I just jump up onto my halfpipe to get up so it would be the same thing I guess. I might go down next week and go in/out the other side then go inside and work my way up and learn that way. Gosh it will be FUN!

Skating with another roller skater now I know is SOOO much fun! Thanks for the videos. Thats how I learn. :-D

Very cool...great idea for an event at the skateparks and the park looks real fun.
Nice skating, too! I like how you can switch it up from parallel to sidestance, vice versa. Right on.

Thanks Robert! The camera used here is a low cost Samsung Digimax S500 (my son camera...) It's small, take quiet good picts and vids at 640*480 at 30 images/s as long as your SD card can store, and you can zoom optically while filming.
