Generally I prefer 57-60mm diameter, 97-100A skateboard wheels. Ricta makes some smooth fast ones, the new ones have hollow cores for lightness. Autobahn is a new wheel that rides nice, not sure how tall they come, though. Good luck. Post a pic of the new setup!

 Hi everyone!

I am trying to decide what is the ideal wheel for a vert skate set-up. Any suggestions? Size? Durometer? Brands? Skateboard wheels?

Thanks,

Lisa

Hard and big. 97 A or harder. 95 A will do also, but 93 A is too soft in my opinion. 60 mm is a nice size. Skateboard wheels are fine; I had the good luck to find some Kryptinics shadows four years ago in Lausanne. I am quite happy with them. I also had good experience with Powell Roller Bones. Those are roller skate wheels.

I am having a hard time finding appropriate roller skate wheels through my regular distributors. They seem to only sell hard indoor artistic wheels or really soft outdoor street wheels. So I guess I will go with skateboard wheels.

I am going to try Powell Bowl Bombers. 64mm, 97A duro.

ciao

hello again. My tuppence worth - 57mm powell V-VI 95mm. Good on concrete and masonite. Crap for knees as I now know to my cost... Became 'Deanos' for skateboard freestylers in the 80's. Powell now have an indoor artistic wheel that looks similar...

Maybe they will sell roller skate wheels for vert skating if a new roller skate boom rises. In the early ninetys there where some wheels from a Danish company named Sub Machine. I'm not sure if they were tailored specifically for roller skates. Anyhow, Rene Hulgreen had them.

So I guess I will go with skateboard wheels.
