Great to see how fast you are improving your skates!

It normally takes me several years between improvements to my skates.

Looks like Myspace destroyed your pictures ... ;-)

[CENTER]I'm going to try again. I reshaped my h-block (grind plates).
I'm going skating tonight to see how well they work.
Here are two shots of my new alterations :

First one, you can see an end on view as well as a side profile of the one below it.

The second shot shows how angled the sides are (right behind the trucks) for torques.

They worked fairly well, but they are still a work in progress. I think they need to be a little more narrow, after using them. Not as narrow as inline frames, but not quite as wide as they are now.

Thanks for the positive vibes!

Cool! Nice work. Keep at it til they're right. Working on a fix up project myself, not skates though.

I wasn't happy with the picture quality on Myspace, so I've recaptured all my new skate building pics on photobucket, with detailed captions explaining the steps taken. If anyone wants to go see my pics, go here :

Nice tools! What type of tool and what is it put on for the holes in the UHMW? What did you use to take off the edges? I wish I knew about the ski option back when I did mine. I'm sure those ride smoother and are lighter too!

 : Nice tools!
**Thanks! **

:What type of tool and what is it put on for the holes in the UHMW?
** I used a wood bore bit to make the inset holes in the UHMW. I used roller skate mounting bolts and nuts to attach the UHMW to the skis. **

: What did you use to take off the edges?
** I used a router & router table. I used a chamfer bit. **

** Without the boots or skate trucks attached, it weighs 11 ounces. With them attached each skate weighs 4.8 pounds. They ride really nicely! **

I need more tools lol! My skates are 4 lbs. 5 ounces. Somehow they gained 2 ounces lol. I guess it was the stoppers but I love em!
