|: I have the bulky butt ones, but some are overdone and others dont do their job well. I've already taken them off and replaced them. I think its better to make my own shorts one day and put pads where I do need them. I seem to hit my right hip hard. Any good ideas for material for homemade pads? I put harder wheels on last night again so hopefully I wont stick on the ramps and hit that area. What works well? Next summer I'll get a sewing machine and custom make some that work and arent sauna pants lol.
Think I found a solution. Hockey girdles. They have thick plastic hip pads in them. Not too bulky. I think the plastic is almost more important then the foam. I think thats why shin guards work, the plastic takes away the impact the most. Plus they have sectioned, plastic tailbone pads. The hip pads and tail bone pads are connected at the top and there is padding that goes from the front of one hip, around back to the other. If I cut those out, I can take a piece of binding fabric, sew it up and sew them to compression shorts. I dont need pads on my thighs, I slide. I think this will cover me well! The hockey shorts are under $30 too. :-D
