Long time ago, I also slammed when dropping in. I recognized that is was because of my bad technique. I stood with both roller skates on the coping and then dropped. This one time it resulted in a hang-up. Afterward I changed my technique and only put the forefoot on the coping. This way, I never fell any more when dropping. An additonal advantag is that you can get more momentum from the drop in this way.
But when I broke my hand in May, I did it the other way round. I stumbled when dropping out of the ramp on the table.
