Here's the crude, crude, crude drawing I drew. I hope you can make something of it.
If it works out alright a photo might tell more.

cephalopoid: Mounting hollow aggressive frames as sliders (7. May. 2010 00:19)
 Hi,

Just got my army boots and found some t-nuts at a hardware store.
I need some skis for my baseplates, still gotta find the cheapest opportunity in the area.

Now I was planning on using leftover xsjado frames from my old boots as sliders, one frame per boot. The problem is, they're hollow, and I don't know how I could attach these. I hoped you guys could help.

Maybe, you could fill the hollow with a hardening foam, like what they use for insulation. Or you could fill it with a hardening epoxy. But, I think my first idea was best. You'd just have to sand down a piece of wood till it fits that odd hollow shape.
That is a tough shape to work with!!

Look here for some ideas. I used a dremel and a hacksaw to cut the frames and make them fit without any additional hardware. I am not sure if this will help but thought it was worth mentioning.

Looks like I really need a dremel. Those things look like I would've loved using them before.

Say, Beer Hunter, isn't that frame of yours kinda hanging loose in that setup? If it would be tight it would limit your trucks. I wouldn't dare to grind with a loose frame.
Love the idea of your setup though. Crossbreeding is fun.

For my own problem, I have an idea. Why not fill(like biff said) and surround the frame with plates of wood or other material, drill some holes horizontally and put in some of those pipe-screw things we use for inline skates. I'll make a drawing.

I\'d skip the wood on the outside of the frame.

 Hi Cepho,

From what I have read, you seem to be migrating from inline skates to quad skates. That is so cool and you will love how they carve. Most Vert Skaters ride custom set ups and I envy them. My good friend rides Tracker Plates and trucks and I am so jealous. Most of these folks build their own stuff and I wish I could. Have you considered starting out with regular rollerskates? I ride the stock stuff with wider trucks by Suregrip. I hate the maintenance, but like the ride. The boots seem to be the most expensive part. My plates and trucks are pretty inexpensive. Would it make sense to try normal rollerskates to get used to them and then make a custom pair? When I was at my best, I rode stock skates and had tiny trucks. I now ride wide trucks for grinding, but still have a fairly stock setup that you can buy. It might make sense for you to build your own, but I thought it might be a good idea for you to get some normal rollerskates just to get the feel. I went from normal rollerskates to inline skates back in 1992 just to get sponsored. It took a while, but I was able to incorporate all of my old tricks. You are doing the opposite and it might make sense to give regular rollerskates a try. It is way different, but the same on certain levels. Until you get carving down, I don't think wide trucks will make a huge difference. I suggest buying some used skates just to get the feel. Just a suggestion.

Rob

 Hiya Rob,

Funny that you said that, now that everyone convinced me to go for the custom build.
I already have a big part of the parts needed and it would be too expensive for me to buy normal rollerskates and then going on building my customs.

That said, I think you're right it's a good idea to get a feel for it first in another pair. It would make it easier to figure out what I want my customs to be.

In the meanwhile, I went to the pool yesterday and my lovely girlfriend filmed me. Gonna put up the films on youtube tonight or tomorrow. They should tell that once I'm used to the quads, carving won't be a problem.

So, did you get sponsored after the switch in 92?
