Irene responds on tracker toe stops
Well, if you change your mind, Irene says :

the plates are a rare find, just make them or get with strickywear.
toes stops were on the tracker site years ago and available in magnesium yellow.
i spoke to linda prettyman back then, you can try to contact them 800 206 5280.

good luck hunting

Does anyone have a link to the plates that have been posted here before that can have a toe stop added? I think they were tracker plates meant for aggressive quads. They are real flat with aluminum plated over a wood center. Were they Tracker plates??

  Hey Biff,
Duke, Desi. Lee & Irene would ALL be better sources of info on this, but as I understand it, those are TOTALLY unattainable these days. But, yes, it sounds like you're describing tracker base plates.
PEACE
Jay....
However, Irene, DOES have some hook-up for toe-stop attachments to go onto any plate you've got..........talk to Irene....

Irene, give me a holler if you do have access to the toe stop attachments.

Thanks Jay!

Why do you want toe stops in the pool?

I can imagine a few fun things, but would it really be worth the trouble?

I still have toe stops but my level of difficulty is way below you whippersnappers so they rarely creat a problem. The worst injury I ever had was a result of stops though. I was sk8ing a pool at Endless Summer in '78 and some Groms were sitting on the lip in the shallow end of a figure 8 pool while I worked the deep end. Kid dropped his board and it rolled into the deep end just as I dropped in. I turned backwards as I went up the vert to see where the board was and when I hit the coping with my back wheels it put my toe stops on the wall then ...as Jackie Gleason used to say "And Away We GO!!!" About 15 gravity assisted feet to a perfect 4 point touchdown in the bottom of the pool. That's 2 hands and 2 knees. Good news was I only smashed 1 knee, bad news? I smashed 1 knee. Just a thought although my guess is 1978 is akin to 1778 as far as most of you shredders are concerned.

You want toestops for a myriad of reasons: the most important, in my opinion, is to get OUT of pools when you fall!

Not for me. Another guy building quad vert skates on the skatelogforum site wants toe stops. I was going to suggest these plates, or at least the toe stops, if he can adapt them.

Toe stops for vert?? NEVER!!!!!!!!!!

hi all, i picked up some n.o.s. indy plates (circa 1979) some time ago on e-bay, they have toe stop blocks.
i purchased them from a guy in california, he claimed to have more of them, but i lost contact.
our only lady skater , karen has sure grip plates, they also have toe stops.
be patient and good luck, what we want is out there, its just a matter of timing.
cheers, H.

Biff.....yeah, they had wheels in '78. Took a long time to get thoses rocks pounded and chipped into a spherical shape though. It did get a little simpler after they invented iron tools. And for the record we older folks DO NOT use a Carbon Dating service to find people to meet. Besides you have already met my wonderful Mrs. of 35 years, Robin.

It's called cylindrical, not spherical.

Well if you have a flat plate like a ski, on the top where the stopper piece goes, drill holes to attach it. Simple! SEe how on the front of these plates there is a piece for the toe stop and its riveted in the front? Just do that on skis. You do know where to get these toe stop pieces correct? Or wait and search ebay and you might have to pay $400 for them now. :-O

Claudine, I understand how to attach them. I just don't know where to buy them.....for less than $400. :P I had thought that someone here had found a source in the last year or so, so I came here asking.

I have forwarded the question to Tracker. Maybe they still have some stock left.

I have to admit that I have a set of small Tracker plates and stopper pieces myself, but I'd rather keep them as collector's items.

The toe stops were for myself (When i skated before i used to like the stoppers to run up flat ramps and for bunny hops and jumping drop ins).

Though after testing my new build, I\'ve decided against it.

Thanks for trying though Biff.

$200 for tracker plates? Are they really that rare?
