Brushy Creek Skate Park
Not as much footage as I'd like, but here is a teaser. Btw, this new bowl is smooth as a babies bottom! As is the deck, and the deep end has a nice looking Spanish style terracotta pool coping. In my next video, I'll give you all a tour of the park.

I saw it between my subscriptions, but somehow commenting didn't work. So here's the comment I wanted to post:

Wow! You impressed me with that stall on the fence. As did the rest of the vid.
We used to have "volcanoes" at the Zuiderpark, too, before they renovated it. They had their own charm, being higher, steeper and narrow.
Good job!

My goal is to get that stall down to the point where I can hit the top of that fence, instead of the middle rung. The one you saw on film, was actually my worst stall that night. I clipped the coping on the way back in and just barely recovered in time!

Yeah, that volcano is really low, but I think it works really well, for the average skateboarder, as a good contributing obstacle in the street course. I hope to get a 360 air over it soon.

The Round Rock skate park has a taller volcano, but it does not have the crater on top like this one. It is like a milk saucer for a cat on top of the volcano. It can come in handy for pumping.

Nice! I think ur getting smoother too. That bowl looks amazing! I am wanting to drop in vert now. There is this bowl and the drop in is 8 feet with 1 foot vert. I want to do it so bad. I guess I have to wait another year. I'm worried I'll bail bad. But thinking I could sit on the coping and hop in? lol?

That sounds more risky and scary than proper dropping in, to me.
I also always tell beginners dropping in into a quarter is easier than in a bank. Frankly, it is.

Make sure that if you do sit and hop in, keep yourself crouched....knees bent, and relax. Standing up too much will lead to a fall, as will tensing up. Also, remember that your body needs to be perpendicular to the surface that you are on. Too many people try to stand up perpendicular to the ground, instead of perpendicular to the vert wall, and they have their feet go out from underneath them. Above all, make sure you are mentally ready. Have fun!!

OK, I saw kids dropping in this way one time but when I tried that on the little halfpipe when I was learning, I slammed on my butt hard. THere are quarter pipes in the kiddie park but they go onto asphalt. Not sure if thats a good idea. Maybe I should just learn lip tricks and wait on the vert. No sure lol. Just want to be able to do new things but I am not 100% on my arm yet and vert scares me with that.

Follow your instincts. Take it slow and do things when your body tells you it is ready.
