Last weekend I went to a pool. At a given point something obstructed my wheel just after dropping in. I was lucky not to fall, but that one wheel didn't turn and got dragged over the ground for a meter or two. Now I have a noisy flatspot and I have the feeling it slows me down.

Any ideas on how to remedy flatspots?

I believe the best solution is to replace the wheel.

Another option would be to use a turning lathe, but the the radius will be smaller. You would have to treat at least the opposite wheel in a similar way.

A lathe is the quick way.

The hard way is to skate on the wheel till you work past the flat spot...which will take an annoyingly long time!! Turn your mp3 player up, and with your earbuds in, just maybe you won't 'hear' the flat spot any more! ;)

A longboarder friend of mine has lathes at his disposal at his school and he offered to cure the flatspots, five bucks a set of wheels. Very nice of him.
Thanks for your thoughts on the subject. :)

Hey, that's great! It's always good to know someone with the right tools and the ability to use them!
