So are these centered, can I drill?
Yes, I would like to see your new skates! Must be work on skates season.

I like the idea of making a wooden foot, well, besides bringing me peace of mind, I just LOVE messing with my jigsaw! And other power tools for that matter. I guess I'm not a normal woman lol??????
:
: I would center them in a similar way. But don't listen to me, I'm always doing very rough work on my skates. I overhauled them one week ago. Now I can change the distance of my sliders to the floor quite easily. I have to do some pics of this and add them to the how-to section.

:
: Nice idea. Never did it this way. Mostly used a hand-drill but nowadays I have a power-drill. Much easier, but also much easier to drill your boot with it.

The nut is striped when they cut it. Already broke a screwdriver. I have stone sculpture tools so I used a file, still cant get off the nut. Any help?

Filed, used my bunny clippers, and sawed some threads in, 4 hours time, they are off! Holes are filled, hands are dead. :-)

Sometimes it's hard to pry a plate from a dead shoe or a nice show from the cold clutch of an old ice skate. But it has to be done, yesssiree! I hope your hands recover fast. Must be late in the night where you live! It's 9:48 am here.

Its 4AM here but I'm on a mission. :-D I think this is the best I can do to center them. The plate goes to the middle of my second toe. I will drill into the stitching on the outside as it is. I hope that is OK???? Unless I drill new holes into the plastic which I dont want to do. And since I'm used to it going to the middle of the big toe, think it will be OK? I will drill later. I'm making a wooden foot so I dont drill my boot. I need sleep though lol. My hands will be fine, thanks Bernhard!!

I think I might order the narrow ramp trucks today!! :-D

Thats just a jump bar for now. Since I'm a lightweight and havent gotten into grinding yet, it will be good til next summer. Once I start to smash it in, maybe by then I will have a tracker/mini setup and figure out some sliders for grinding. I didnt know how much fun building a skate was!!!!! :-D I'll be more proud to ride them now.

Vertical Rollerskaters are always unusual people. Makes them interesting. And you are right: having built your own skates increased the pride in riding them very much.
