They're called copers.

They were being produced by lozin.com , who seem to have gone out of business. You can still sometimes find them on eBay, or knowing Claudine, she'll probably make her own. Maybe once she's good at building extreme quads (oops, sorry Bernhard) roller skates, she can go into business. :)

Hey, if there is DEMAND for skates, we all can join in lol. Thanks.....more ideas. Right now I like the idea of sparks coming from my trucks but later, might like slide too. Thanks!

claudine: cutting plastic? (23. Oct. 2007 03:29)
I have a 1/2 inch industrial cutting board here. I could cut strips and put in long bolts on the trucks. Maybe 2 strips about an inch wide each side? Would that do? Can I use a jigsaw and drill? How can I thin the ends to counter sink the washers? I think this would work! Not toooo heavy......

Years ago, the kids would cut the plastic of the supermarket carts. They did create plastic sliders for trucks and the name is escaping me. I peronally love the metal on metal, but it does get stuck at times and I have some big chunks out of my trucks. I am sure you will create something for all of us.

I will create something, just hope it wont take 6 months lol. I have time to contemplate this before I work and then Xmas comes, etc. I think the square pvc pipe would work best so far and lightest, 1 1/2 inch wide, tall, would be a nice height too so my wheels dont lock up. Just drill 2 holes in the plate and pvc pipe, simple!

I worry that if the nuts are long, being thin, they would break. Lucky I dont weigh much but I still do damage. :-D

If I recall, my brother said it would cut but go slow cause it gets hot. He has some tools too.

Then piecing an inline plate, hum...... Something will work!

Looks promising! Maybe it's something similar to the material I used for my toe protectors?

This is the material, we use for the sliders (20mm) and plates (10mm)

Looks nice!!!!! Trying a hand saw on them will warm you up very fast: good winter exercice.... (BTW stainless steel is worse to cut or drill)

: So inside, dremel? ALso, height. Why some people near the plate, others near the hangers? Which is better? Near the hangers, easier to come off, near the plate, just jump off a bit but easier to clasp on? Its hard to clasp on with rollergirls bars.
:
: I did good huh? :-D Is this stuff heavy? Better then the square pvc pipe?

Titanium should be adapted, good sliding, ligth, but expensive: it's used in stunts like a man dragged behind a moving car (it makes sparks also). Stones like flint are harder than steel, sparky too ;-) and inexpensive

So next year when I compete, put flint on my trucks and give up a good show!? :-D

How fun lol!

claudine: A question........ (23. Oct. 2007 22:23)
I see you used 85a wheels, can you explain why so soft? Is it slower then harder wheels or no? Just curious. Riding 85a now and was thinking going to 95a mostly cause of wanting something faster.

That is the exact stuff to use,a jigsaw or hand saw will cut it well but you have to cut it slow as it tends to melt itself back together with the heat of a fast moving blade.
the plastic is a HDPE polyethelene and is used for cutting boards for its abrasion resistanse and its natrual slipperyness(perfect or what). It's what I use as it's mouldable with a bit of heat(did mine in the oven @ 150 degrees)

cheers joe
