how light?
I got the cockroaches, they are 3 ounces each, 59mm tall and 33-34mm wide. My bowl bombers were 4 ounces each so now my skates are 4 ounces less each one!! They are slightly harder. I'll see how they go.

So what does dual durometer mean lol? I might have to try those out next time if they arent too hard.

Probably two layers of different hardness. Maybe a hard inner layer to make the wheel fast and stable and a softer outer layer to make it grippy.

Looking at the photo:

Is the tyre homogeneous and only the core harder or does the tyre consist of two layers in itself? I know there where wheels which had different layers of urethane ...

Yes the hub is something like a 75d and the tyre is 99a and both being urethane(unlike nearly all other hubbed wheels which use nylon hubs)there is no delamination. All cortech wheels are cold gravity poured to achive a one peice duel duro wheel rather than being laminated together with an adhesive which is always gona be prone to failure.I'm no expert on this ,I'm putting it out there as I understand it.Search the web for more info,Tim has a prety informative site.

cheers joe

That's pretty interesting, since I delaminated a set of Krypto road wheels (78 A tyres) when skating a bit of a distance (25 km one way) in hot weather (well 33 degrees Celsius was hot back then in Germany. In todays summers, it is only luke warm ;-)).

 Hi Harry,

how's the weather in Melbs? I heard from Tim that it was 42 degrees Celsius on New Years Eve. It was pretty warm here on Sunday, too. The thermometer rose to 8 degrees!

Ah, that's what I love about Australia. They use metric units and I don't have to figure out that 60 degrees Fahrenheit is 16 Degrees Celsius! ;-) But sounds quite good for winter in New York!

Cheers

 One (1) wheel: 60mm + bearings (2) and spacer (1) = 3.5 ounces or 95g.

Well, if it stops raining tomorrow morning like they said, I will skate all weekend at the bowl and hopefully landsdowne! Its an hour for outdoor bowls here and an hour and a half for an indoor park here til the end of March.

It's a bit better now here, but I envy you for the good weather. I haven't been skating since our session in Melbourne.
