update skateboard
I'm going to go slightly harder on the bushions on the skateboard since I will be able to barrel more weight on them. I have 73a I think for the roller skates. SHould I go with 79a or 85a? Any opinions. I weigh the same as a 12 yr old lol, but I have heavy thought at times hahahaha.

Well, I took it out. The 46mm were a bad deal! I'll either put on the bowl bombers or a smaller hard wheel or should I put on a soft roller skate wheel? Those 46mm wheels were shattering my body and as soon as I hit a pencil, I went flying. I was only going 2 mph too. I want some soft tires, not too heavy though, any advice? Seems like its pretty similar to roller skating. But I had fun! I think I"m regular on skateboard. My balance/strength is right foot. I skate that one forward with roller skates, but I need that one on the tail to turn. My left leg is useless, it just hangs there and causes me pain lol.

I got to try out a long board today too. They were too long for me since I like my feet over the trucks, but I liked the width. I've decided I just love to cruise on boards, tricks are for my skates. So the guy told me about cheap old school decks. Balance on those is more comfortable. My trucks have 6 holes so I can go either way he said. But mine are only 8" wide so I might need new hangers later you think? But this is the board I will get. $15!!!!!!!! http://stores.channeladvisor.com/TGMSKATE/items/item.aspx?itemid=9706496
Cool, huh?

I also need new bushions. I couldnt turn the board for the life of me. They guy said I dont weigh enough. They are probably hard from time. Should I get the same extra soft as my roller skates or just soft? These are mediums. My trucks are reg. independent, but I need conical. I will get a tail piece. Thats it. My wallets going on a diet lol. I'll get wheels in time. I did have fun today til I hit that pencil lol.

im hearing you about the rubbers (cushions).
i would recommend indy red conical rubbers, they are the softest ones. i fit them to everything. in the wheel dept, id try 60 mm. 95 duro, that would give you the best of both worlds.
even though the cost of living sounds high over there, i admire your g.f.i. (go for it) attitude.
happy rolling and good luck. cheers h.

I rode today! :-D I'm actually doing a-ok!! OK, the problem with the trucks not turning was half me lol. I'm used to roller skating, front foot forward, leaning forward. Today I learned how to really turn! I had to put my feet on top the trucks and further on the left side of the board and realized its toe or heel to turn. Probably simple but skating sideways is new to me. And then learned to turn my front foot sideways, stand up straighter. Is this akin to sidestance? I'm wondering if after I learn this if I will be able to do sidestance. I still would like to go both ways lol.

I think I'll go with blue khiro. Or how are the indys different? I have 92a on now and the nuts are almost off. My skates are 73a. Skateboarding you put more weight on the sides so I think 85a or so will be a winner! THere is lots of play to the bushion now so I can turn. If its more snug and soft, it will be easier.

I find for street, I enjoy the board more now. I like the fact I can walk or run off my board if I'm in a bad place. With skates, you have to know ahead where youre going! So I'm limited where I can skate until I get really awesome on them. I seem to be picking this up much faster then roller skating. I assume thats because I roller skated? Skateboarding doesnt bother my knee at all and I never fall since I can run off. I think this is a match made in heaven (board + skate!) No more sitting on my butt grumpy days lol. (unless its crappy weather...) I might one day cut a board in half and make some Sandler skates lol. I know Robert, I'm an addict! But I think I can now sell my scooter. :-D

Well, one day... Hey, I checked out 2 longboards today and a slalom board. The slalom board was too turny for me. The longboard, if I put my front foot over the trucks, it was a far distance to the rear. So I was riding just half of it. I actually did more enjoy it but I liked the oldschool board best which is the blank deck I'm getting. What is FUN on longboards, go atop a steep hill, sit on it, lean back and let it rip down the road!! Swerve around the cars so you dont smash hahaha. :-D Dang, another sport when I'm old and have bum legs!! Now to design a brake and later motor to go back up the hill. I got me a toy when my legs dont work anymore lol.

Wow, soft wheels! They roll faster outside. I was in heaven! I guess I will have both a mess at the park and a cruisin board one day. I was told longer boards are faster due to distance of trucks. Is this true? That would be points for a long wheel base! I need to look into these trucks on that slalom board. I think they might be too wide for me but they would be incredible for vert skates for you guys! For streets, I recommend abec 11 no skoolz 75a wheels. I got me some today! Man, love them skateboarders lol! I also have some bulldog BDS wheels to try out for my vert skates. They are hard, wider. I will check them out. .
