i want these shorts!
I have new shorts! I centered where my bruise was in the hockey hip piece. I hit the same spot constantly and made sure there was beefy foam where the plastic comes in. So that spot should never get impact anymore. I moved and cut pads only where bones are. It looks like cellulite lol. But its easier to move if its pieces of foam rather then one piece. Comments/suggestions? I think this is the best I can do. If I have a sore spot, just stuff more foam under them. If it doesnt work, undo/redo again.

Avoid 100% synthetic short, the material will fuse and burn you on the first slide.... 100% cotton+padding is perfect!!!

So I should just stick with foam? I'm going to try out my hockey hip pads again to see if they work OK. They are bulky but now I dont care I"m about healed but it wouldnt feel good to slam on them yet. I'm not sure if plastic/foam combo would be better? If so, if I get the next size hockey shorts, the plastic wouldnt cup as much so I wouldnt have to worry about it digging into my skin if I landed funny. Still super bulky, might need a pair of shorts TWO sizes up lol. I have some flat volleyball knee pads I could stick down my crash pads, would that be better? Ideas? I think I would like to have something velcroed to the pants eventually, then I can move more.

Where can I get a fat ass lol?

Claudine, I don't know why you never take my advice. Just don't fall! lol Are those crash pads? I think you mentioned you had them and I really like mine. Why not wear your crash pads and then velco another pad over the bad area? I never fall because I never try anything. It's a funny correlation. Let's see......progression and pain or safety and stagnation. lol By the way, I do fall, just don't progress.

Robert, if I didnt skate, I would just fall down the stairs or trip over the cord to my vacuum or kick my feet under my desk and yank myself out the chair rofl. I have this extreme desire to hurt myself it seems. I was known at the physical therapy place long before I skated. So I have to practice to get it right! :-D

Crash pads are OK. Not good enough. I feel like I got on freakin diapers! I will make them better. I have my design idea. I will have the best skate shorts out there ever made soon!!
