Vert is Dead....and long life to the vert!!!!
: good article!!! Money and Xtreme games are far to the many the many riders still ripping, but yes, street semms more attractive to the youngers. And sad to say, in US or EU some verts are removed from indoor parks for more street areas. At least skateboarding still recruites young blades. A small kernel of young to older still ride vert here in Paris (30). Hope vert will come again!!!

Seems that they have reverted their decision: http://expn.go.com/expn/story?id=3338823
Don't know if I should be happy about that. Anyhow, I do not watch TV and therefore I largely do not notice those media events.

: In Champigny and Massy, we initiate youngs to vert board or inline skating or BMX... Many kids/teens like it

That's the spirit! Go out and skate!

Robert: Vert is Dead (11. Apr. 2008 03:16)
I have been doing a lot of reading on this on my skateboard forums. ESPN actually just changed their minds and they will be having vert. I definitely don't think vert is dead. It is a lot harder to find vert halfpipes, but there are a ton of vert bowls and pools. It does suck that Vans Skatepark, which is about 14 miles from me, is going to take down their monster halfpipe. I had been wanting to skate it, but kept putting it off. I think it might even be gone now. We do have one huge halfpipe in San Diego, but it is being resurfaced. I miss nice gradual transitions on halfpipes, but vert is definitely not dead. Maybe vert wooden halfpipes? When we are too old to skate, who will take our place? Our generation seems to be the last and it makes me sad. Have kids and make them vertical rollerskate. lol

Whose beanstalk? I used to be called beanie as in Claudine the stringbean lol.

Ah, vert is dead, roller skating is dead, art is dead, gosh, I'm still alive and love all three!! And as soon as this freaking hip starts to heal, I'll be out there rollin. Dang it, I think a 250 lb poisonous spider sucked some poison in my hip cause if I bumped into something, it stings. Well, patience I know, which line is that in and is it very long lol?

I got my foam so I'll be making the new/improved ass pads this weekend! That foam feels really good. Just out checking out some things for my design. Slider gloves too I hope and working on my website. But I'd rather be skating.....

Yay for another member! I"m still out, hope in another week I can roll the street at least. I guess I did rip the muscle fibers. Still very tight. Walk up the stairs feels like they could tear so I'm not sure what I could do besides swim or when it will ease up. And I'm an achor in the water so its no fun. But I'm pretty awesome on this motorcycle game at Dave and Busters!! Yep, I would fly in the air with my legs in the air, one legged maneuvers, shoot I even spun on my head on my seat going 200mph while flying off a cliff lol. :-D I won that race!!

Australia on the rise! That's very good news, indeed. Reminds me that I still have to upload some pics from downunder ...

I don't give a damn about ESPN or the rest of the companies that make money with these sports. While they are thinking how to make money, some of us think how can we get a vert to have fun ridding it. They mean nothing to me. ¡Qué les den!

I don't care much about those neither. In fact, I hardly notice those TV companies since I hardly ever watch TV. Anyhow, they seem to be too close to the commerce farce Olympia.

I am, however, happy about those companies trying to make money producing skate stuff like wheels, axles, boots, bearings, ramps, ...

Yes, of course, making money with no return to the skating community, I meant.

Big hugs, Bernhard

P. S.: I will post the photos of the street set as soon as I will finish it completely.
