And oranges, yum, and watermelon and potatoes with more potatoes and vegetarian chicken salad and pistachios and pumpkin seeds and soy chips and baby spinach and these GF brownies and dark chocolate and fresh white corn and chocolate protein shakes and salsa and hummus and corn crackers and peaches and plums and apricots, and these frozen fruit popsicles that my bf gets at the organic market and everything thats easy lol. I just like to eat! ;-D But I'm getting surgery, hopefully tomorrow. WOW, it was a crazy day! I will post about this above.

: I'm so happy to be a vert roller skater. The inliners dont accept me, rink skaters dont either which is odd, but I fit in with the boarders pretty good and you guys are so cool. Irene, promise me even if they turn me into a cripple, you will come down here and rip it up for me to watch cause I wanna see another vert roller skater ride one day in person before I die. But I will be ok and doing handplants one day!! I'll try......

Thats what I have and the radial bone is smashed into my other bone, its one bone now with one is cracked in at a 30 deg. angle. I CRIED!!!! Dr sent me to the ER so I thought they would do something since the radiology lady said they could fix it and Dr said it was an emergency. All I got was this enormous fiberglass splint from half way down my fingers to almost my freakin Shoulder. I said I cant work like this! The Dr said to go to an ortho and it might be too late or I would need a plate, Crap,,, I might never be able to move my arm!! One lady said I could take it off since its 2 pieces but I just had my bf cut out the palm of my hand so I could use a mouse lol. WTF does moving my fingers have to do with the fracture that is 2/3rd up to my elbow? I might still have to take the splint off at work cause I really dont want to be homeless. Life is not good, I just wanna skate! And open the door with my right arm one day.

Claudine, I am glad you finally got checked. Did they say if you will need PT? Did your insurance cover your treatement? You are one tough chica. I am glad it was not more serious because not taking care of a break could be very serious. Time to heal and start skating again. I am curious what their game plan is. I would guess your bone has mostly healed and wonder what a cast is supposed to do? Definitely hit an ortho asap. Either bring the x-rays or he will take some new ones. Make sure he is on yoru insurance's in network provider list, if you have a ppo. Time will heal all wounds. Keep the faith.

Doesn't sound very useful to bandage your arm at this point in time. Sound more like you would need surgery if your radial and your ulna have grown together. Well, maybe it can be done without surgery but surely it needs to be fixed badly. You are really tough!

Does your health insurance also cover sick pay or does it only cover treatment?

:

it shold be covered but it IS serious , the bone was shattered and was smashed in and is healing wrong so if they wont rebrake it and put a plate in it i will be permanently disabled the rest of my life now.

In Germany or in Switzerland (or in any other civilized country) there would be no question in this regard. It's medically necessary to regain your capability and therefore it will be done. My physiotherapist told me this morning that it happens indeed in the US that you won't get fixed up. But you have to! Keep on fighting for your health! Or do it like Michael Moore and go to Cuba ...

Anyhow, as far as I understand, you don't have enough money for living at the moment because of your insurance. I would to help you out a bit. Could you send me your account data? I was very hesitant to write this in the forum, but maybe someone else wants to help a but, too.

My boyfriend is helping me out and lending me money this month but when he is not around, I go hungry. That pain is worse then this injury!! I SHOULD get my rent lowered cause I am SUPPOSED to be in low income housing where rent is based on income. But there has been problems which I am trying to rectify so I am paying full rent now which is 75% of my income working full time, and it shouldnt be. I might need to take you up on your offer. I hope not! I think I can work a day after the surgery, but my bf is working an overnight camp so if I cant drive...ugh. We work 10 mins apart.

I see the orthopedist today at 3 pm. If he says it is healed too much, I will ask him how I can best rebrake it myself. I will rip bowls or take a hammer to it if need be but isnt this rediculous????? Physical pain I can handle, I dont want to be disabled. I dont care now if I never own anything or die in deep debt. I just like to rollerskate, paint, my animals and to eat and sleep with a roof over my head. I dont need that much money for this. Had I known this I would have been happy to be $100,000+ in debt when it happened. I thought I had a sprain though. I've never had a serious injury like this. I tune out pain well it seems.

You shouldn't. There isn't too much flesh on your bones as it is!

I hope you will get this sorted out. Isn't any easier when you are injured.

Don't hesitate. There aren't that many roller skaters around.

Tell him that you NEED to get your arm fixed! There must be a way even in barbaric countries.

Good luck today at the ortho, I'm sure they can fix anything these days. Let them do the breaking tho! What do you like to eat most? I'd be glad to help out, too. Mr B is too kind ;-)
