: i wish i had one of those bags stuffed into my sk8 pants
: cheers, h.

I always stuff a piece of high densitiy foam rubber (known as "Moosgummi" in Germany) in my pants. It's the same stuff knee pads are padded with. I put it on the side of the right hip because when I slam, I slam on my right hip.

Hey All.
I just got a pair of 888 Crash Pads last week that go under your SK8 shorts & I LOVE 'em. I'd been using a football "girdle" for about the last 3 or 4 years...it was better than nothing, but not even in the same league as these Triple Eight Crash Pads. Thighs, Hips, Tailbone all covered nicely!
BTW: Finally got a pic of the long-awaited 1 handed inverts...

My apologies if any of these images don't work....I always seem to require more than one try to post on your site Bernard. I'm just a techno-idiot....Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend.

i consider myself a butt pad expert lol. of all the premade ones, the 888 offer the LEAST protection. get the crashpads. they dont compress as much and protect you twice as much. i think i got these but cut out the pads and rearranged them as i didnt need them on the thighs and such. i basically moved all the pads around to where i needed them. http://crash-pads.com/product.aspx?dept=skate&style=2500

or better yet, get motorcycle pads and create ur own. these are my favs. the one on the bottom. the ones on the top turned out to give me a huge hematoma that lasted for 3+ months....

Hey Claudine, thanks for the expert input. I'm sure there are burlier pads out there.....I've actually got a pair of crash pads for my wife (which she won't be using for AWHILE!) which have plastic shells like knee/elbow pads on the exterior of the shorts over the interior pads. She loves 'em when she uses 'em. But for me, I'm always looking for that happy medium between protection & reasonably comfortable. Right now, I'm digging the 888's. Glad to hear about the smaller cast......still waiting for NO Cast, but it's a process, I know.
PEACE!

hey congrats on being a daddy! i think they have baby carerras lol. hey show us (me lol) the pics!! how cool. so sorry she cant sk8 tho. at least she will have something to show from her down time lol.

i am counting the days til i hear the news. once i hear my arm is really healing (the 12th) and i am in a shorter cast, my life can start moving forward again and i can really look forward to the roller days. (just dont tell my mom lol). my hip is healing very well and faster then expected so i know i am healing well and my arm should be too. i was worried there as i read that they can cut the nerves, etc. in the hip w/ this surgery wh/ would be permanent, plus constant pain. i am OK!!!! :-D

i dont recommend plastic shells but the flexible one over the tailbone does ok. i thought the crashpads were also more flexible then the 888s. the ones i made out of motorcycle foam are less flexible getting the knees up. but i never got the handplants down and when i didnt have enough speed, i slammed A LOT on my right hip. so for me, the slammer, i loved them. and in my return, i wont compromise protection for performance for a long, long time. i will be very lucky and happy to do tricks again. even if its at a simple level.

yes, i cant wait to get my elbow out and start PT for that! i heard that is much harder then the wrist so eager to start. i was most thankful this year for thanksgiving, yep. good luck daddy Jay!!!! ;-P
