mountain wheels?
: : Has anyone tried these? THey are the wheels rollergirl used to carry for off road rollerskating. Just have thought how fun it would be to rollerskate the bmx track. I heard those are supper heavy, or do they have air wheels for mountain boards? SOmething light with air and BIG might work better, be lighter. My hamstring muscle is sore still so I'm bored and wondering what else I can do thats fun that I havent done yet lol.
: :
: : If anyone knows what to do for a sore hammy besides rest, stretch, etc, let me know. Every sport seems to use jumping or a leg curl type of motion. I think skateboarding is all I have that doesnt stress it.

: Hey Claudine,
: I've never used MTN wheels for sk8s but I have ridden a MTN board with pnumatic tires on it a couple times. They were probably about 120-150mm & air filled. They rolled surprisingly well over very rough surfaces. I did this in hawai'i down side of small mountain. However, & I can't stress this part hard enough, falling off-road compared to ramps, pools, sidewalks, rinks etc. is TOTALLY different & BAD!!
: You can't kneeslide down a hill. You tumble. And when you're tumbling down a mountain, you're outta control. So, I wouldn't advise it. I hurt myself on board. :( Be careful.

OK, maybe safer on the bike. Just feel MUCH safer on the dirt on the bike and wouldnt really think slamming on concrete with a 25lb bike on top of me would feel good at all. I have slammed inside a dirt gap on the bike and it wasnt so bad. I dont have money for these I dont think either but was just day-dreaming ya know......

Sounds like just the thing to totally get hurt using.
Mind you, very fun until then!

I don't have an answer for you, as I've not heard anything about them, or used them. Sorry.

I've seen them for real, they are full rubber, so very very heavy.... and quite hard (and expensive too here in France...).
Depends on the use:
-off-road downhill
-skating off-road or bad roads
-traction by a sail or a kite!!!!
-others?.... ideas for rollerskating on sea, surfing???

Maybe 100-150mm inflatable inline wheels should be better. I've seen an old vid of a guy using then with a small sail on a desert like area, but can't remember the link....

Cheers

I was just thinking of using them on a smooth dirt bmx pump track. It would be riding like on a major rollercoaster but the surface is much softer then concrete. Probably out of my budget I'm sure but always wonder if I could have fun on rollerskates like I do my bmx. Plus locally, the local park isnt open enough and closes for winter.

Where would those inflatable inline wheels come from?
