|you can skate street parallel til you get to the trick or obstacle and switch to sidestance to launch methods, grinds or whatever. you can ride anything sideways just like skateboarders, there are no limitations to sidestance skating. parallel, no matter which direction you turn (left or right) there is no true blindside and looks the same to the uneducated. carving bowls and airs over hips are more fun going sideways, i think you also have a better center of balance. it's the difference between skiing and snowboarding. start on street... carving around things backside, do some slalom (frontside and backside going sidestance), then hit the ramps. got to try it to find out...roll on!
