RollerSkater Dave
Street?

: : Is there any sites about it? I wonna find an owesome street video, to show it here in Russia, we have got a good inliners u know. But every body still thik thet rollerskates are for kids =(
: : I wont to show them that its cool too!
: :

We have videos at Quadskating.com.

: : *And do they use a regular skateboard trucks (isnt too large?)?

Most use trucks in the 3 inch wide (freestyle) to 5 inch wide (typical skateboard truck width) range. A few go crazy and use the really wide ones.

: : *What about using a boot of a modern inline aggresive skates? Or cool loking sk8board shoes? To make skates look COOL! (This will help to populate sport)

As long as they fit good and snug they'll work.

: : *And why 99% of riders prefere inlines?
: :

Actually vert skating started with roller skates. Ramp riding started in the 70's with skateboarders in California who would ride in empty bowl shaped swimming pools. Some were also roller skaters so they started also riding on their skates. It wasn't until the 80's that anyone started riding vert on inlines. Inlines just happened to get popular as the last roller skating craze was winding down so that's why you see mostly inline vert today, but rollerskates are making a comeback.

Back in the time when vert roller skating started, street style as we know it today simply didn't exist. Most of the roller skaters who still riding today started in those times. There is, however, a younger generation who also does some of this crazy dangerous street stuff.

OK, so they say that i can buy aggresive quads on www.hawaiisurf.com
So as far as i see, (i cant read franch), i have to buy this frame http://www.hawaiisurf.com/reference.php?rf=1989

and theese slide plates http://www.hawaiisurf.com/reference.php?rf=13346
(will they fit to this fame?)

Then i should to attach it to a boot. WHich one is better for street tricks, low boots or high ones? I still donno what to choose, skateboard shoes, or aggressive inline boots.

No. Those slide plates are for Razor inline skates.

I would suggest going to http://www.rollerquad.net/forum/
and posting your questions there. They're heavily into street roller skating. Don't worry about it being a french language forum. You can post in english and they will reply in english.

 Z,

check out this site: these are rollerskate boots w/aggressive bottoms
This site has real good grind bars

http://www.rollergirl.ca/usdcart/index.php/cPath/24

Here's an inline setup:

Good luck with putting together your street rollerskates!

 Hi Z,
I am not sure Hawaisurf still have the grinder plates in stock. Call them, they are used to international order. They may still have the monolith that was designed for street. Here is a setup with inline boots:
http://www.rollerfr.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=425
Quadskating.com have a video of street action:
http://quadskating.com/videos/Wawa_grind.avi

However, rollergirl setup is ligther and she is also used to international orders.

With standard skateboard trucks you can construct some like mine on the pics.

OK, lets see all the schemes u suggested:
__________
Theese ones
http://www.rollerfr.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=425

they are not real rollerskates, i donno what is this, they looks cool but tye dont have a rweal roller skateboardlike trucks. I donno how do they turn.
______________

As for rollergirl's skates

http://www.rollergirl.ca/usdcart/index.php/cPath/24

I donno, why do they have theese stoopers on aggressive models? Do they need this? LOoks stuped for an aggresive skates!

Streetwise model dont have any slide plate. Vertigo and Sensei models do has them, but their shape is wrong. As far as i know the shape should be like on the inlines slide plates. And sttheese toppers looks useless.
___________

As for theese skates,

http://www.adinfinitum.de/php/showmsg.php?id=1719&theme=Vert-Skating

they looks better, but they looks like handmade, and why do they has leather belts on front?

Please, cooment all that i said about theese models.

And why dont u use rgular inline aggresive wheels with square profile?

I would say they don't turn at all and classify them as something in between inlines and roller skates.

: I donno, why do they have theese stoopers on aggressive models? Do they need this? LOoks stuped for an aggresive skates!

My roller skates www.adinfinitum.de/Rollerskate/howto/VertSk8.html also do have stoppers. It wasn't easy to fit them to my construction and you don't have to put them there. I personally prefer to have them there.

Maybe Lisa (who builds those skates) can answer your questions. She isn't seen very often on the forum here, but has a forum on her own site and contact information should also be there.

It is for the same reason that I put some plastic in front. Your boot lives longer this way. Vert skaters sometimes bail and then slide down the ramp on their knee pads. It can be very abrasive to the boot front.

: And why dont u use rgular inline aggresive wheels with square profile?

Too narrow and the diameter is also a litte small. Maybe they work for your purpose.

: --> They turn like inlines, ie not. For street skating like grind bars, stairs, hand rails, u don't care with trucks, just run, jump and grind.
: -> modern inline agressive boots are too rigid for me

:
: --> you should try, test, improve, it is the only way to know what is wrong. The inline grind plates are still improved each year, but they are not wide enough for quads (I tested) and so expensive for only pieces of plastic (market rules).

: --> As they are home handmade, why should I hide it? The leather is for protecting the boots, the ramp and my fingers that can be between as in wrong hand plants on the coping(see how the leather is cut). You are an expert: the leather comes from belts!!!!
: Each quad is a prototype that you fit to your needs, you can still improve their look, it's your choise, it's not mine. Once their function is good for me, I prefer spending time having fun by using them instead of improving their look.
