Greenbelt bowls
I had probably the best skate day ever today! I dont know how to explain it, but riding the bowl is the best feeling ever. I skated for 3 1/2 hrs and had to stop cause I was so hungry I had to eat. Otherwise I would have skated another 3 lol. Nothing else can compare to this great feeling I had. I even did front stalls on it today! I rode on the top in the shallow end. Still cant figure out the pumping and no speed yet but I'm beginning to get the carving. If anyone knows about the Canon PowerShot SD750 camera, shoot me an email. I want to get a video of me cause I'm having a blast! The boarders there are great too and think my skates are cool. :-D

The bigger bowl looks scary to me. Its 10.5 foot in the deep end and 7-8 foot in the shallow end. Its all pool coping and that extends close to 2" past the bowl on the inside. Its vert drop in all the way around. Irene, if you can do this, I will be so amazed!!!!!! I have no idea how on roller skates you can drop in with the coping going inside the bowl so far being vert. Only seen skateboarders do it! I would think you would die lol. I will take photos next time I go in daylight

Tomorrow I do Lansdowne first time, lots of snake runs I was told! What an awesome life I have, couldnt be happier. I'm in total love with my skates!!!! :-D

I was told this would be a great one for me, but its pay though. An hour from work in traffic and 36 mins from home. Looks great!

My first impression is not so hot but I think I need to give it another shot with more appropriate wheels and time to know for sure. They had one section that was 8 feet deep, again, the slope was flat and there were many cracks.

The walls are mostly flat, rough and irregular. I tried with my hard wheels and that made my legs shatter some and skated in 44 mm wide roller skate boxy wheels and that was a carving disaster not to mention slow as heck. Not fun for me at all. I only did the shallow end since I had to leave early. I guess my feet are total lesbians now cause they seem to get off on smooth curvy surfaces! I hit a pocket at greebbelt and its really exciting!! I didnt hit any excitment at this park but will give it a go and do the whole park next weekend starting from the top with my aerobic wheels since they are curved at least and soft. It was also an a-social park so I couldnt talk to others about lines, etc. Maybe I just didnt know how to ride it? But with such a hike, if its not fun next week, I'll stay with the smooth as butter bowls!

Nice to hear you are having so much fun. It seems a lot of these new bowls are not geared toward rollerskating. I skated an awesome pool in Palm Springs, but the shallow end had very little tranny so dropping in could have twisted my ankle.

The small bowl is PERFECT!! I'm sure some of you guys can do that one with pool coping, I'm hesistant. I think sidestance would be easier but I would have to step IN the bowl to go down. I'll try landsdowne again since Holly likes it. But for me I like curved smooth surfaces. There are other bowls too, one in Frederick which looks perfect, is close but its pay. WIth gas its even though. There are about 7-8 places with bowls around here within an 1 1/2. I had no idea!!

Whats a tranny?
